Where exactly are the trees planted? Why in these locations?

Tree planting takes place mainly in areas where trees are most important for locals, animals and the environment. These are usually the poorest parts of the world, where there are no resources or money, and the natural regeneration of the forest would be possible either in a very long time or never again. Here is an overview of the areas where trees are planted.

South America

South America is home to one of the largest ecosystems on the planet. Amazon tropical rainforest. The area of this forest is an incredible 5,500,000 km2. It covers Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Guyana, French Guiana and Suriname. However, the protected area of the forest is only 1,000,000 km2. The health of an ecosystem of this size is reflected not only in local localities, but also in the climate around the world. Currently, the Amazon rainforest is threatened by huge fires, excessive felling and associated soil erosion. Our partner organizations oversee communities caring for reforestation of deforested areas, followed by tree care. Take a look at these projects and help together reforest areas of Brazil, the Andes, Haiti, and Guatemala.

Africa

Organizations in Africa focus on planting trees to support animal territories in important river basins. This leads to an improvement in animal shelters during droughts. Improving soil conditions for agricultural and economic activities. Sustainable resources such as wood for fuel, food growing, mining for work and income are extremely important for local populations. Farmers are also actively involved in how to effectively use the potential of land for farming and the efficient use of forests.

Asia

A significant proportion of all endangered species are found in Asia. The most serious threat to global biodiversity as a whole is generally considered to be the loss of the environment. The best known endangered species include tiger (Panthera tigris), orangutan (Pongo), Indian elephant (Elephas maximus). Our partners’ projects aim to help build and recover their natural refuges and help local communities work and earn a living. Building jobs, declining hunting for the black market, which now is very successful in Asia.
